Resources to Support Team Recognition

At Northside, we recognize the importance of celebrating the contributions of our dedicated and compassionate employees. Valuing our employees' work is essential to fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported and engaged.
To support your recognition efforts throughout the year, Northside has established a standardized approach to funding employee appreciation activities across all departments.
Departmental Appreciation Funding
- Each department will receive a designated budget allocation based on the total number of worked FTEs.
- These funds are budgeted under Expense Account 805 – Employee Service Excellence and will flex with staffing levels to ensure fairness across all areas.
- Budget allocations can be found in your monthly accountability reporting or in the printable fixed and flex budget reports in Axiom.
This dedicated funding empowers directors and managers to recognize employees through team appreciation events, meals, and other meaningful activities.

Excellence in Action Points & Hospital Week
Northside has also allocated resources to support up to 100 Excellence in Action points per employee each fiscal year for approved initiatives.
Key details:
- HR-sponsored Hospital Week events will replace prior department-level celebrations or gift weeks.
- Departments must participate in one of the approved Excellence in Action initiative categories to award points.
- This portion of the budget will be managed by Human Resources.
- Employees can spend points in OC Tanner's store with a wide range of options, including gift cards to a variety of retailers of their choosing.
- Leaders should not purchase gift cards or meal vouchers for employees. Instead, employees can exchange their Excellence in Action points for gift cards at any time.
